Today I wanted to share an idea I had recently. I really wanted to know what it felt like to draw digitally. I have done a lot of digital drawing in the past and have always wished I could do it more “realistically”. I had no idea that my desire for digitization was actually a desire for me to draw more realistically. The digital drawing I am sharing is a digital drawing of a hand.
I used to think drawing was too complex. I thought of this a lot. The more I drew it, the more I realized it was a dream for me. I wanted to know what it felt like to draw digitized drawings of hand-written characters. There was this feeling of being a huge kid at the age of 9, and I wanted to be that kid but I was afraid it would be too hard to draw.
I was afraid that if I had to draw a digitized drawing I would be too literal, so I decided to learn how to use Photoshop to make this happen. I used to think I could learn anything online. I had so many programs to choose from and I had no idea what I was doing. I needed to figure out which programs were the most useful for me, because I had no idea what I was doing.
Photoshop was created by a programmer named Doug Engelbart, who spent many hours in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s creating programs that were so powerful they would have been invented by the time he was born.
I think you can probably make a decent living out of the task of drawing digitally. There are lots of programs that make it easy to do, but not the best quality. That’s where drawing programs come into play.
I use a program called Photoshop. But it’s not really the best program, and I think it’s fairly obvious that the best programs are ones that have been designed for the purpose of digital drawing.
